    This 35 min practice is ideal to stretch at your desk when you have a limited amount of space available. You can also do it at home and take more time for the relaxation at the end. The only equipment you will need are a yoga mat, chair and maybe blocks (or thick books).  The class begins with a centering practice to check-in with the body and the breath. This easy check-in is a good tool to remember to take a pause and combat stress. We then start moving the body gently, lubricating all the major joints, and releasing tension from the neck and shoulders. The practice continues with more stretches and finishes with a relaxation. This is a great way to break up your work day, de-stress and release tension.

  • On Demand – 40 min – Gentle Yoga Practice – Stretch & Relax

    In this Gentle Stretch and Relax Yoga video, the only equipment you will need are a yoga mat, and a block (or thick book).
    The class begins with a mindfulness practice to center yourself and check in with the body, mind and breath. The simple act of checking-in and mindful breathing will do wonders to manage stress and relax. Then we start moving the whole body, with gentle stretches. The practice ends with a short relaxation.
    Feel free to press pause at any time, where you feel you need more time in a stretch or for the relaxation. This practice is beneficial at any point in the day to relax or take a break from your computer, de-stress and release tension.

    We all spend time hunched over computers, phones and tablets and this time is increasing each year, which leads to “Tech Neck and Shoulders”: a rounding in the upper back, the head moving too far forward. When we look down, the head follows and it is like adding weight onto our cervical spine. The outcome can range from spasms, pain in the neck and shoulders to headaches and creaky joints.
    This practice encompasses all the good stretches for your shoulders and neck into a fun flow. Even though the focus is neck and shoulders, you will still move the whole body. You can do the whole sequence when you have time. And there are key stretches as take away to do throughout the day when you have less time.
    No props necessary, only your yoga mat!
