This privacy policy explains the what, how and why of the information collected when you use the on demand services of Yoga with Cat or when you visit the website or practise yoga with me – either in person or online. The policy also explains the specific usage of any personal information captured.
Who
Yoga with Cat is the business name of Sole Trader Catherine Bernard.
We host regular evening classes at Knock Riada Community Centre on the Lucan Road in Chapelizod, as well as online classes accessible over the internet. Classes are suitable for all levels, check out the schedule here.
What data is captured?
Yoga with Cat and its representatives (Catherine Bernard or an occasional substitute teacher) are the ‘Data Controller’ of any personal data you provide. We only collect basic personal data about you for class passes or membership management, marketing or promotional purposes. On occasion we may take pictures of ‘live’ classes for use on the website and/or social media channels. Where any video/picture content would identify you personally we will first ask your consent. If something was ever included on the website or social media inadvertently without your consent, please contact us immediately and the issue will be rectified.
Why we need your data
The collection of basic personal data about you is to provide the services to you and facilitate your attendance at classes or workshops. We will not collect or retain any personal data we do not need.
We collect and store information you submit to us when making a booking, for the purpose of reserving your requested spaces at our classes and maintaining a record of attendance.
What we do with your data
The personal data is processed only by authorised personnel from Yoga with Cat (Catherine Bernard or an occasional substitute teacher) in the Republic of Ireland where it is captured.

Online classes and recordings
To protect both students and teachers, the Online classes are recorded. That also enables us to provide the replay service should you miss the live class but request the recording to practice later.
Access to all online classes will be restricted by a password. This is designed to maximise security and minimise potential disruption to the online class environment.
Students have the right to keep their video switched off and sound ‘muted’ to protect their privacy. Students can also ‘rename’ their device or persona if they wish to remain anonymous within the online environment.
How we secure your data
We have Data Protection guidelines in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data. We take every reasonable and appropriate measure to protect your personal Information from loss, misuse or unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. In the unlikely event of a data breach we will notify you as soon as possible and indicate any steps we have taken to remedy the situation and steps we advise you to take.
How long we keep your data
Your personal information – such as name and email address – which we use for marketing and membership communication purposes, will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive any more communications from us. You can unsubscribe from us at any point by contacting us.
Marketing Consent
When you sign up to our newsletter, we will send you a weekly or by monthly class update, workshop and events announcements. This information is not shared with third parties You can unsubscribe by contacting us.
